Myths about Real Estate:

Home Improvements Always Increase Value

  • Myth: Every dollar you put into a home improvement adds an equal amount of value to your home.

  • Reality: Not all home improvements provide a full return on investment. For example, some luxury upgrades may not appeal to all buyers, and specific, personalized renovations (like custom-built features) might not add as much value as expected. It’s important to focus on improvements that boost appeal and practicality for a broad range of buyers

You Don’t Need to Stage Your Home if It’s in a Hot Market
  • Myth: If the market is hot, you don’t need to bother with staging your home to sell it.

  • Reality: Staging can make a big difference, even in a seller's market. It helps buyers visualize themselves living in the home, and homes that are staged often sell faster and for higher prices. Simple changes like de cluttering, adding lighting, and arranging furniture can improve the home’s appeal.
